What
a great night we had at the Old Nicks Tavern in Horncastle.
Like all visitors to the pub we recieved the warmest welcome.
They even take the time to review all the bands that play there.
I've copied out their review of us below:
Old
Nicks welcomed the very talented and diverse three piece Cuttin'
Loose for the first time. Travelling the short distance from
Boston brothers Baz and Pete along with the evergreen Mark from
Bourne are Cuttin Loose. This is an old style rock outfit that
plays to the punters, all the old songs that you just don't
hear from other bands. Pumping out no less than thirty numbers
through out the evening there was a strong chance that all would
be pleased. By the size and volume of the audience it seemed
that this was exactly the case. Mark and Baz were effortless
as the rhythm section and kept the volumes to levels that made
for enjoyable listening. Frontman Pete like his brother Baz
are both left handers. The only reason I mention it is because
I am also one and have never seen it before in a band. Maybe
that's why they just went from song to song so seamlessly, with
panache and class. Dropping into the set self penned numbers
Jazzy Blues and Cuttin' Loose gave us all a glimpse of the polished
writing ability, they really should show case more of there
own. Add this to covers from just about every artist out there
with a special mention of Ant Music, I'm a believer, Starman,
Radar Love. As always the night ended to soon and the witching
hour came to wrap the proceedings up. Really enjoyable gig,
this is a super band with a fantastic repertoire easy to work
with and a pleasure to be around. A very receptive audience
that was a good size for January, thanks to all that came down
We look forward to seeing them again in the earliest possible
time.
